Fudge (v): “to cheat” or “misrepresent”. It’s apparently international chocolate day today so why not try some Chocolate Fudge? I make fudge often (much cheaper than buying any) but it is a painstaking process which can turn out awesome or grainy depending on the batch. This cheat recipe is as foolproof as it gets and will have your husband sneaking into the fridge at night for some. The only downside is it doesn’t give quite the satisfaction you feel when you make the “real” stuff.
2 C Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
1 C Milk Chocolate Chips
1 Small Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 Tbsp Butter
1 Tsp Vanilla
Melt Chocolate chips and butter in the microwave for 1 minute, stir, continue to melt in the microwave for 15 seconds at a time mixing each time until all the chocolate has melted – don’t over melt (mine took 1 min 45 seconds to complete). Once the chocolate has melted add in vanilla and sweetened condensed milk and stir. Scrap into a 9×9 dish which has been lined with tinfoil and lightly greased with butter.
- This recipe is not my own, I took it from a Taste of Home Magazine, the original recipe is found here: http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/course/desserts/fudge-recipes/fudge-candy
