After getting out the food colouring to paint Easter Eggs, I got an idea for a rainy spring morning activity. This was my first time making playdough and I was happy when it turned out just as I had hoped it would. I guess I always figured it would be messy or difficult to try to make your own but it wasn’t and it was ready to use in 10 minutes.
- 1 C Flour, 1/2 C Salt, 1.5 Tbsp a Cream of Tartar, 1.5 Tbsp Veg Oil and 1 C water, food colouring.
- Mix everything except water and food colouring in a pot. Add the water and mix over medium low heat for about 5 minutes or until when you pickup a bit of dough between your fingers it isn’t sticky. Let cool until it’s warm enough to handle and separate into 3 balls then add food colouring to each. Keep wrapped in plastic wrap and in an airtight container or ziplock bag.
