Recently I have been researching homemade hummus and pita chips, any favourite recipes that someone can share with me before I attempt to make either the pita chips or the hummus? Some say to split the pitas before baking and others don’t? And where do you find sesame paste (Tahini)? Apparently it’s the secret but essential ingredient in making good hummus.
So far it seems hummus requires chic peas, garlic, tahini and a bit of lemon juice. Just blend everything together for the hummus and adjust flavours to your liking.
Pita chips are just sliced pitas brushed with a mixture of olive oil, garlic and salt and pepper and baked for 20-25 min in a 375 degree oven. Is it really that simple?
